Acceptable Use Policy
What is not allowed on SellSpace, how anyone can report illegal content, and what we do about it.
1. Purpose and scope
SellSpace is for selling legitimate digital products. This policy protects Buyers, honest Sellers, our payment partners and the platform. It applies to every store, product, listing, template, message, domain and account on SellSpace. It is part of the Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited products and content
You must not list, sell, distribute, advertise or link to:
- Illegal goods or services of any kind, and anything that helps commit a crime.
- Stolen, hacked or shared accounts and credentials: leaked databases, stolen card or personal data, and accounts you have no right to sell.
- Streaming and subscription accounts (for example shared, cracked or fraudulently obtained accounts for streaming services).
- Cheats, hacks and malware that cause harm: viruses, ransomware, stealers, keyloggers, botnets, and tools whose main purpose is to attack or defraud others.
- Content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights: pirated or cracked software, license-key generators, leaked paid content.
- Phishing, scams and fraud: fake documents, fake reviews, pyramid schemes, misleading products.
- Money laundering and anything that conceals the origin of funds.
- Goods or services subject to sanctions or export restrictions, and any use in breach of EU, US or UN sanctions.
- Child sexual abuse material and any sexual content involving minors, and non-consensual intimate content.
- Hate speech, incitement to violence, harassment and terrorist content.
- Adult content beyond what Stripe allows (see Stripe's list of prohibited and restricted businesses). Weapons, drugs, gambling and other regulated items that Stripe does not support are prohibited too.
Sellers are themselves responsible for ensuring that their products are legal in every country where they sell. Stripe's list of prohibited and restricted businesses (stripe.com/legal/restricted-businesses) applies in addition to this policy.
You must also not misuse the platform: attack or overload the service, scrape beyond normal use, bypass limits, create fake orders or fake views, or abuse the partner program, Media Helpers or the marketplace.
3. How anyone can report illegal content or abuse
Anyone, with or without an account, can report a store or product that is illegal or breaks this policy:
- Report link. Use the Report this shop link in the footer of every store.
- E-mail. Write to [email protected] (subject: "Report"). Please include: (a) a clear explanation why you think the content is illegal or against this policy, with the legal provision if you know it; (b) the exact location, such as the full URL of the store or product; (c) your name and e-mail address (not needed for some serious offences such as child abuse material); and (d) a statement that you believe in good faith that the report is accurate and complete.
Please do not include sensitive personal data you do not need to share. We confirm that we received your report where we have your contact details, assess it carefully and objectively, and tell you our decision and how to complain about it. Reports about copyright are handled with the notice-and-takedown steps in the Terms (article 11.4).
4. Automatic checks and human review
- Keyword filter. Product titles, descriptions and variant names are checked automatically when they are created or edited. Words associated with prohibited goods can trigger an automatic block or flag of the product (for example names of streaming services in an account-selling context, or terms such as "crack").
- Reports. Anyone can report a store. Reports never restrict a store automatically: a person on our team reads each report and decides whether the store is restricted (quarantine), cleared or banned.
- Human review. People on our team review quarantined or flagged stores and products and decide the outcome. Automatic tools are a safety net and make mistakes; a product that passes the filter can still be removed if it breaks this policy, and a flagged product can be restored after review. If you think the filter blocked a legitimate product, tell us at [email protected].
5. What happens after a report
- Assessment: we check the report and the content.
- Measures: where content is illegal or against this policy we can remove or disable it, quarantine or suspend the store, ban the account, hold payouts as far as the law and Stripe allow, and report to the authorities (for example for suspected serious crimes, as required by Article 18 DSA).
- Cleared: if the store is fine, the quarantine is lifted.
- Banned: if it breaks the rules, the store is closed permanently and the account may be closed.
We may skip steps where a violation is clear or serious, or where an authority or a payment partner requires it.
6. Statement of reasons and appeals
If we remove content or restrict, suspend or ban an account, we send the Seller a clear statement of reasons: what we did, why (facts, legal ground or Terms provision), whether automated means were used, and how to object. You can appeal by e-mailing [email protected] within 6 months, explaining why you think the decision was wrong. We review appeals diligently, with a human who was not the original decision-maker where possible, and answer in writing. You can also use an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under the DSA or go to court. Reporters can also complain if we decide not to act on their report.
7. Repeat offenders
We may suspend, after a warning, accounts that often post illegal content, and people who often submit clearly unfounded reports.
